See How Much Havoc Boko Haram Wrecked In Borno State
Dr. Shettima Kullima, the chairman of Borno State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, briefing journalists in Abuja revealed that about 50 teachers have died while 520 schools and 1000 Classrooms have been destroyed in Borno state by the deadly Islamic Boko Haram sect, Vanguard reports.
He said the number of students killed is yet to be known because of the ongoing insurgency occupation in parts of the state.

The Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu, claims that students in Borno who are resident in areas where the rebels are not occupying still go to schools.
“In most of the areas where the insurgents are not occupying, like Maiduguri, Chadi, Biokusa and even the Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps, schools are going on there.”
He also laments that nobody seems to be keen on supporting education in the state saying that,
“Apart from the state government, we are yet to get any support from anywhere particularly from the former administration that treated the state as if we were worse than conquered territory.”
