Housemaid & Mum-of-two Charged for Allegedly Stealing N500, 000 From Boss
Patience Benjamin, a 30-year-old mum of two was arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ibadan on Monday for allegedly stealing N500, 000 belonging to her boss, Mr Ibrahim Taharm.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Sunday Ojeleye, told the court Benjamin also stole one HTC hand set valued at N82,000 putting the total value of stolen items at N582,000 on Dec.7, at about 6:00 p.m. at Oluyole Area, Ring Road, Ibadan.

Benjamin however pleaded guilty to the charge which could attract seven years imprisonment, if convicted.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Abdulateef Adebisi, admitted the accused to bail in the sum of N500,000.00, with two sureties in like sum. The case was adjourned till Feb. 8, 2016.
Stealing is bad and she has pleaded guilty but my question is why 7yrs for 586k when people who steal millions are sentence to 6months. This is misappropriation of justice.
Can u imagine a mother stealing? What example is she setting for he kids? What will happen to the kids if she’s found guilty and convicted? Smh.
