Kidnappers Demand N100M Ransom for Abducted Goodluck Jonathan’s Cousin’s Release
Kidnappers of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s cousin, Mrs. Serefina Otazi, the Bayelsa state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who was kidnapped by six gunmen on December 20 at Ewoi- Otuoke Road in the state (read here) are now demanding N100 million as ransom.
According to The Sun, security sources said the kidnappers had contacted the family and demanded the ransom for her release.
The demand by the kidnappers has reportedly thrown the Otazi family into confusion, as they are apprehensive over the state of her health.
The Christmas celebration was low key in the family as they offered special prayers for her to regain her freedom before the New Year.
A top security source said security agents are on top of the situation and assured that she would regain her freedom without ransom being paid.
