See How This Family Grew by 6 Kids in Just One Year
Florida couple, Kenley and Calyn Stringer, are still in awe of how their usually quiet home welcomed their 6 adorable kids in only one year.
According to Tallahassee Democrat, unsure about having biological children of their own, the Stringers had been conducting a long and often frustrating adoption search throughout 2014. Kenley even made a fruitless trip to Uganda to research viable options.
Amazingly, shortly before learning about four siblings who were in need of adoption, in November 2014, the couple discovered Calyn was pregnant with their now-6-month-old son, Benjamin.
The children, Eric, 7, Dale, 5, Brittan, 3, and 2-year-old Maya, are from a 23-year-old mother but from different fathers. The fifth and youngest sibling, infant Kiki, was still in the process of becoming adoptable and was not yet eligible to be put in a new home.

With their own baby of the way, the Stringers were still determined to provide a home for the siblings who almost certainly would have been separated through the adoption process and had only nine days to prepare for their new family members.
Calyn said, “Our house was already pretty kid-friendly because we’d had a foster son who was 3. (However) we had this mad rush of taking them to doctors, collecting paperwork to get them all settled in and enrolled in school.”
When Benjamin was 4 weeks old, the couple was finally granted custody of the youngest of the siblings, Kiki, whom they call “the last piece of the puzzle.” With Benjamin’s birth and the addition of Kiki, the Stringers added six children to their family in the span of a year!
Reflecting on how their lives have changed, Kenley said, “We went from a quiet house with just the two of us to all this crazy.” Calyn added, “We joke that it’s a lot easier having six… Things are a lot more stable now.”
