NUC Reveals 1.1M Out of 1.5M UTME Candidates Will Not Secure Admission Yearly
The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission (NUC), Prof. Julius Okojie, has revealed that there’s no provision for 1.1 million candidates out of the 1.5 million who sit for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) yearly.
He made the depressing revelation on Wednesday when the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, visited the commission in Abuja to collect the Certificate of Recognition for the new Edo State University, Iyanmo.
He said,
“I am always happy when a new university comes on board; what that means is that we are expanding and we are opening up access. We know the number of candidates that sit for UTME organised by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board every year.
However, out of the 1.5 million candidates who take UTME every year, we are barely able to make provision for only about 400,000 students. The new university will, therefore, be accessible not only to candidates from Edo State but those from Ondo State and other states.”
This is killing
Nawa oo
sad news
This is insane, they make people go through hell to write all these exams and at the end nothing positive comes out of it.
Hmmmmmmmmm
They just disgrace the nigeria educational system…as if it hasn’t been disgrace a long time ago
Imagine the rubbish system. They knew the number they could accommodate but they didn’t think it fit to limit the number of forms sold to that number instead of wasting the candidates’ time
i now see reasons why people love to study abroad
which way Nigeria
Lol, after waiting their money
it is well ooo
Na wa o
This is just too bad and unfair.
After spending money for jamb forms and the stress of reading and writing the exams? Which way Nigeria
