The Deputy governor of Borno state, Alhaji Usman Durkwa, allegedly caught workers using ‘weed’ grass to make soup for the Internally Displaced Persons in one of the camps in the state.
According to Dan-Borno, the Twitter user who shared the report, the deputy governor made the shocking discovery during an inspection to the camp.
This is reportedly not the first time IDP workers have been accused of such poor treatment against refugees.
The fresh news, however, is yet to be confirmed by authorities, and if found guilty, those involved will be prosecuted.
