How My Supposed Prince Charming Turned Out To Be A Married Dad of Three Girls!
Few years back, I met this dude/man on Facebook – let me call him Charles (not his real name though). Charles and I connected almost immediately we started chatting, we realised we had everything in common. He was so God fearing to the extent that the only updates on his Facebook wall are usually about God. I liked him instantly! After chatting for few months we decided to meet. He stays in Owerri but had some business appointments in Lagos that weekend.
I remember meeting him at my bus stop one Sunday evening, and then we proceeded to have dinner at Mr Biggs (very close to my bus stop). I discovered that Charles was way older than me (He was in his late thirties and I was in my early twenties). When I asked him why he wasnāt married yet,Ā he said he had been praying about it and God just answered his prayers.
He wanted to meet my parents, he didnāt even want to court me. He just wanted to marry me as soon as possible. I told him I wasnāt ready. I was trying to save up enough money for my fashion house before I will consider marriage but he would not listen, he promised to get me a big fashion house in any part of Lagos and a car once I agreed to marry him (he was obviously very rich).

Now, let us be realistic, deep down, I was tempted even though it was too soon. Nahā¦donāt blame me. Itās not every day someone hands you your dream on a platter of gold. Iām just human.
Well, the second time he came to Lagos, I took my friends along (Lagos babesā¦always representing). We had fun that day, they automatically fell in love with him (or his money – I canāt really tell). They tried pressurizing me into marrying him, telling me stuffs like, āOlder men are more caring,ā āThe guyās got enough money to last you a lifetime.ā One of them even went ahead to remind me that when we were younger and went for a revival, the man of God saw a vision that I was going to marry someone too old for me.

I remember I even used to speak to my prospective sister-in-law (Charles sister). Sheād call me and pray for me telling me to hold my stomach as she prayed that I will produce twins and triplet for them. Lmao! Anyways, I just couldnāt bring myself to marry in a haste especially to someone I didnāt really know. When I expressed my ādisinterest’, he withdrew and even my supposed future sister-in-law stopped calling.
Fast forward to last week, I was ‘jejeli’ browsing on Facebook, when I saw that someone tagged him a picture of a young girl wearing a matriculation gown and wrote, āCharles congratulationsā¦Your daughter is now an undergraduate.ā
I know I was not supposed to be hurt,Ā but I also know that I had to satisfy my curiosity, so, I headed straight to his inbox to inquire from the horseās mouth. At first, he denied being married but later on, he opened up and told me he had a wife in Owerri. He said they had 3 children (all girls), and he needed a male and the wife said she was done with child bearing, especially since she had the girls through operation. He claimed he wanted to marry me and keep me in Lagos, so I could produce heirs for him.
I felt drained and weak after his confession. Do I seriously look like the bearer of the XY chromosomes? I imagined what would have been my fate if I had married him. I would have been very rich but I would also be a baby boy making factory and a second wife to the man I will detest. And to think Iām the kind of girl that believes in ’till death do us part.ā
May God deliver us from all evil, especially those who come like a knight in shining armor.
Amen
lol yes oooooo…..
Hmm God really saved you and that’s because you weren’t desperate and greedy
A big Amen. Every lady should seriously pray to God to reveal every hidden thing about their husband to be. So many wicked and selfish men out there
Single girls be on the watch out for such men. Them full everywhere
Amen.
Hahahahahahaaa… story of my life.. I almost fell for one like this some years ago… Urhobo man, huge in the oil and gas industry, wife and three daughters in Delta yet parading as a single guy in Lagos… oh yes he was very good at his game, no family pix on phone or at his apartment, young and offcos rich.. Unfortunately for him he gave himself out with a statement he made over the phone while we spoke.. he was like (talking angrily) “don’t mind these bank people, my wife even had the same issue with them ..last week” and I was like “WHAT”??? DID YOUR JUST SAY YOUR WIFE?.. and he was like “emm emm.. no pls emm emmm…its not what you think.. bla bla bla..” At the end of the day I got to understand he already had 3 gitls and also needed a boy… hahahahahaa. Like I manufacture xy chromosome. . Men!!! Funny creatures.
Amen to your prayer poster. God delivered me too from a married man with two boys. Thank God for his wife that called me oh we were already planning intro. Thank God for you too for finding out. There are too many married men out there pretending to be single trying to bed young girls. One has to be very careful.
Some men eh
In Emmanuella’s voice…#Some men…
Oh what a sweet tale! Thank God for your life
Ladies should remain prayerful so that God can reveal every secret thing to them, especially when it comes to marriage.
Some men are terrible
Hmmmm
Haba
Hmmmmmmm
Thank God you weren’t greedy like some girls who’ll jump at the opportunity, that is the norm this days where young girls will leave her younger bf who has dream & drive, then go after an older man who probably maybe married or who wouldn’t take the serious…I just dey watch una
my sister I thank God for u o. I was also saved from such men too 2years ago. they are much outside now o. we just have to b careful ni o
No be small thing
Lesson 1: you cannot trust dates on Facebook! People lie a lot about themselves on Facebook, therefore hoping to get a great relationship from there is a risk, beware!
Lesson 2: no matter how evil is masked time/patience will unmask it. Most people with evil intentions are not patient. Desperation makes them win, but delay reveals their intentions.
I’m so glad you didn’t fall for this!
