“You don’t have to be somebody different to be important” – Michelle Obama Motivates Young Girls in Liberia
U.S. first lady, Michelle Obama, shared via Instagram, a touching photo of herself in a warm embrace with a young girl in Liberia.
Along with the photo, which was taken during her visit to a leadership camp in Liberia, she shared an inspiring post encouraging young women to take pride in their uniqueness and to believe in themselves.
She wrote, “You don’t have to be somebody different to be important. You’re important in your own right. Nobody wants you to act like a boy. People want and need to value you because of who you are, because of your story, because of your challenges. That’s what makes you unique.”
You will recall that the first lady arrived Morroco on Monday on her 6-day tour to promote the education of girls with her “Let Girls Learn” initiative. She had earlier visited a leadership camp in Unification Town, Liberia, where she talked to teenage girls about the importance of education and urged them to keep fighting to stay in school.
