Too Cute! Watch The Moment A Three-Month-Old Baby Hears For The First Time

Taryn Blair, a mother from Perth, Australia, was moved to tears when her three-month-old baby heard her voice for the first time after he was fitted with hearing aids on Thursday.

The baby, according to Daily Mail, was born in April with a level of hearing loss. Little Jordan Blair did not react to loud noises and failed two of his initial hearing screenings.

On Thursday, however, he was fitted with hearing aids and his mother was moved to tears by her son’s reaction to her voice and a rattling toy.

She said, “I was crying. I wasn’t sure what to expect going in because we still don’t know the severity of the hearing loss. So when we saw his reaction and saw him laughing at the rattle we were just so happy.

“It’s been a tough time with him getting sick with Bronchiolitis, Rota virus and Laryngomalacia (a floppy larynx), so to see him smiling and laughing instead of crying was just lovely for my husband and I.”

The mother was so excited that she shared videos of her little boy giggling after hearing for the first time on Facebook.

She wrote, “Jordan’s hearing aid day! (3 months old) He loved his rattle sounds. Put a smile on mummy and daddy’s face!”

Jordan’s aunty also shared a video of the baby on Facebook with the caption, “My gorgeous nephew, Jordan, got his little hearing aids fitted today. Today he’s hearing for the first time in his life! First time he’s had a good proper giggle too! Love this little dude so much!” 

While expressing her relief that the hearing aids were working well, Jordan’s mother said, “We were worried when he wasn’t reacting to the dog barking that it could be really serious but if he had profound hearing loss he wouldn’t have had that reaction yesterday.

“It was a great outcome and a relief and now we just need to learn how to keep them clean and keep them on – he will probably need a little headband.”
