Amazing! Kano State Government Appoints First Female Accountant General After 49 Years
In the 49 year history of Kano State, the first female accountant general has just been appointed.
Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, has approved the appointment of Mrs Aisha Bello Muhammad as the Accountant General of the state with immediate effect, according to a statement by Commissioner for Information, Youth and culture, Comrade Mohammed Garba.
Until her appointment, Mrs Muhammad was the Commissioner of Planning and Budget in the state.
She’s a graduate of Financial Management and Accounting and has held several managerial positions in the banking sector including Manager, Kaduna South, First Bank Nigeria Ltd, as well as Operation Manager, Minna branch, Head of Credit Risk, and Manager, Area office, Abuja – all with Habib Nigeria Bank Limited.
She was born in 1965 and is married with children.
The erstwhile acting Accountant General, Ibrahim Kura, retains his position as Director, Treasury.
