‘STOP managing abusive men, he slaps you once, he will do it over and over again’ Advocate, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye Warns

As October marks Domestic Violence Month, Nigerian author, advocate, women and girl child’s rights activist and a columnist for The Guardian, Esther Ijewere-Kalejaiye has come out to enlighten women who are going through abuse in the hands of their partners.

Sharing the photo above, she urged and begged women never to manage an abusive partner as there is nothing loving about being abused, noting that sex or prayer won’t make abusive partner stop either.

Read what she posted on her Instagram page:

”Dear Woman, Please don’t manage an abusive partner, see ehn there is nothing loving about being beaten and maltreated. Nothing at all.

I know your Pastor told you to Pray about the situation, It’s okay to pray but do it with sense, it’s better to pray from outside, than be carried out from inside as a corpse after prayer and fasting. Remember the woman whose hands were chopped off by her husband in Kenya for not conceiving.

When she reported him at the initial stage, Pastor asked her to keep praying but today she can’t even hold a Bible like she did months back because her Pastor refused to separate reality from spirituality.

Abusive men hardly change, save for those who go through therapy, not sure this option works for African Demon wife beaters though. STOP managing abusive men, he slaps you once, he will do it over and over again. SEX won’t t make him STOP either. Don’t get it twisted, a man prayer can’t change, Vagina won’t do the magic either.

Let your legs receive common sense ??????????????????????#EstherSpeaks *Pic taken last year at the@dsvrt walk against domestic violence #Speakup #dv #domesticviolenece adenikeoyetundeEsther!!! I don’t know how you do it. God alone bless you dear sis ??????”
