Chibok Girls: Fear Confirmed As 18 Out Of 21 Released, Returned As Mothers
October 14, 2016
21 Chibok girls who were released by Boko Haram today, 18 of them are reported to be nursing mothers believed to be born to Boko Haram terrorists, according to reports.
The girls were among more than 200 who were abducted from the Federal Government Girls College (FGGC) in Chibok, Borno state in April 2014.
This development further confirms fears that the young girls were turned to sex slaves by the terrorists during their time in captivity.
The girls were freed following negotiations which the Nigerian government says were brokered by the Swiss government and the Red Cross.
Meanwhile, the girls are said to have been released in exchange for the freedom of four Boko Haram members.
