”Not knowing someone that you thought you knew for years is horrible.” Mary J Blige Opens Up On Her Divorce
After pulling the plug on her 12 years marriage (read here) to her husband and manager Martin “Kendu” Isaacs few months ago, American singer, Mary J. Blige, has opened up about the “horrible” split.
The 45-year-old queen of Hip Hop Soul told ITV’s Loose Women how she thought she knew Kendu, but the reality is she didn’t, Mirror learnt.
”I’m in the thick of it. I’m in the middle of a divorce that’s everywhere. It’s just how hard life is. It’s the pain. It’s the lawyers. It’s the this. It’s the that. It’s not even knowing someone that you thought you knew for years. It’s horrible. But there’s hope in it as well. I have to keep the joy so I can live and survive.
I can’t just die in the sadness. This is why I’m here — because I kept my joy in spite of my pain and crying and releasing everything on stage to my fans and us healing together. I kept my joy.”
As Blige goes through her horrible divorce from Kendu. She fights to keep her money as he seeks $129,319 every month in spousal support.
Blige, who filed for divorce citing ”irreconcilable differences” in July, recently asked the court to delay the spousal support hearing to February so she and her lawyer can be in attendance. The hearing has been scheduled for December.
In recent court documents, Isaacs reportedly asked the court to not accept Blige’s request to move the support hearing to February.
In a statement over the summer, Blige thanked her fans for their support as she went through such a difficult time.
According to her representative:
“Ms. Blige is saddened to say [that] it is true that she has filed for divorce, saying sometimes things don’t work how we hoped they would… but, there is a divine plan and a reason for everything.
“Mary will continue writing and working on her album, which is due out later this year along with her world tour. She thanks and appreciates her fans for their support and love through this very difficult emotional time.”

I feel for her, to have a man who you once loved and you thought he loved you right back trying to rip you apart because you are divorcing him. Same man you took care of for 12 years as husband and wife. It’s quite heartbreaking. I pray she heals sooner than later.
Some men are unpredictable
Hmmmmm

It’s really a pity when men ask for divorce settlement from women that work hard. It’s pathetic.
He’s not even ashamed to ask for spousal support. It means Mary was the man in the marriage
