79 Year Old Man Fulfills Dying Wish | Marries His True Love 59 Years Later
Meet George Kay and Ann Millin. The duo have been a couple since 1957, but never got around to being married.
George is presently experiencing heart failure, and doctors have concluded that he could die at any moment. As a result, George decided to fulfill one final wish before he dies – to marry the love of his life, Ann.
The couple who come from Offerton in Stockport, got married in ward A10 in Stepping Hill Hospital, where George has been a patient for the last three weeks. They were surrounded by family, their nieces and nephews, who they brought up and trained from a young age. They came to give them support.
Ann, who was, overwhelmed with emotions, had this to say to MetroUk, who were there to cover the event:
“It’s mixed feelings for me, this is a sad time but also a happy day. The staff have been great looking after George and wonderful helping us organize this as well, I’d like to thank them so much for what they’ve done for us.”
Ann also shared that she met George at a race course, where he recommended a race horse to her. The horse lost the bet, but that kicked off their romance.
