Hollywood Mom Viola Davis Makes History as First Black Woman to Earn 3 Oscar Nominations
On Tuesday, Viola Davis, made history after receiving a third Oscar nomination, becoming the first black woman to achieve this feat. The nomination is for her latest movie ‘Fences’, which she stars in alongside two-time Oscar winner, Denzel Washington.
Davis’ stunning performance in the Oscar nominated movie ‘Fences’ has received widespread praise as many hope this will be the year she receives her first Academy award. She recently took home the ‘Golden globes’ for her role in the same movie earlier this month.
Davis, is no stranger to making history. You will recall that in 2015, Davis, became the first black woman to win an Emmy for her impressive performance in the popular TV series “How to Get Away With Murder” where she plays a complicated law professor Annalise Keating.
