”Thank you for your prayers and kind wishes on my health” – President Muhammadu Buhari to Nigerians
Last night, President Muhammadu Buhari thanked Nigerians for their prayers and kind wishes on his health. Following his meeting with Senate President, Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker, Yakubu Dogara and Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan, at the Abuja House in London, the President wrote on twitter:
”I thank them for visiting. I’m also grateful to Nigerians, Christians and Muslims alike, for their prayers and kind wishes on my health.”
You will recall that the President had on January 18th, written to the National Assembly, notifying the legislature that he was proceeding on a 10-day leave (read here) and temporarily transferring presidential power to Vice-president Yemi Osinbajo.
The leave was supposed to last 10 working days, between January 23 and February 6, however, the president, whose real medical condition remains unknown, sent an official letter some days ago, where he revealed that he will not return to the country from his vacation in the UK until his doctors are satisfied (read here).
