UPDATE: Body of Doctor Who Committed Suicide Finally Recovered from Lagos Lagoon: Family Members Identify it
The body of the medical doctor, Allwell Orji, who jumped into the Lagos lagoon last Sunday (read here) has finally been recovered by the Marine Police.
According to a statement by the Lagos State Emergency Management Authority (LASEMA) the body was recovered at about 4.00 p.m on Wednesday at the CMS end of the lagoon, about six kilometres away from where Orji committed suicide, Punch reports.
Fatai Owoseni, Lagos State Commissioner of Police said the recovered body has been subsequently identified by his family members and driver, and will be handed over to them while investigation continues.
He added that the command would liaise with his grieving mother, Chinyere Orji, to dig into information on his mobile phone to enable them unravel the circumstances surrounding his suicide.
”The corpse was recovered by the Marine Police around 4pm. The police will use technical platforms to analyse his phone to investigate the suicide.”
