Dear MIMster: Is My Niece Acting Funny Around My Husband or Is It Just Me?

I’m a 31-year-old married woman with 3 children and my niece who lives with us. Let me tell you what is going on in my marriage as I’m hurting so much right now.

I left my husband and children in Africa and went to Europe to study. My niece who was only a high school student when I left is now a University graduate. I am the one who sponsored her education all through. Now that I am done with my course, I returned home.

I couldn’t help but notice that my niece has started behaving very badly and she cannot stand being questioned by me whenever she comes home late. She would rather talk to my husband than talk to me. Due to her behaviour and disrespect, I decided to chase her away from my home. Meanwhile, my husband keeps defending her. This is making me suspect that there might be something fishy going on between my husband and my niece.

I’m so troubled I don’t even what next steps to take as I don’t even trust my husband anymore. Since I came back from Europe, he has been pass wording and hiding his phone and acts in a very weird way.
