Controversial producer and Yoruba actor, Yomi Fabiyi who made several headlines when news hit that he was separating from his Caucasian wife, shares his thoughts on marriage, divorce and the possibility of finding love again.
In an exclusive chat with Yomi on BroadTV, the father of 1 revealed that he is still very much married to his wife but he is however considering divorce. He shared that his happiness is mostly important hence his decision to walk away. He also says he came to the conclusion that marriage is definitely not for everyone.
When asked when he would be getting married again, he said:
“I am still married, I am not divorced yet, until I find somebody -because I- to be honest with you, I decided I want to quit the marriage because, every thing you do in this life; we wanna be happy that is the bottom line. The height of anything anybody does is to be happy, and if at a point i realize that marriage is not giving me the kind of happiness I want, I believe am an adult I should be able to take a walk.
But in this instance, I decided to take a walk and I was to initiate the divorce because divorce is not done by one person. so i was able to speak with my wife and then, to my utmost dismay her reaction was very subtle. She also regretted the lapses and the loop holes in the marriage. we are still trying to look at it if we are gonna get the divorce going on. It is also very costly and that is why it is very important that one should think before going into marriage as divorce is not always easy even if you have the money to process it.
How are you sure the judge will ascent to your divorce so we are still… I can only say i am a limbo; I am still married with the intention to divorce my wife but we are not at logger head- we are not quarreling we talk and we relate. She is not really down for the divorce but to be honest with you She . . . and then we are still talking.
I think sometime in July she’s coming to Nigeria….. You know marriage is not for everyone because we are not fighting . . . if i can afford the divorce, then we will go ahead with it so for now i can not say i am not married or want to marry again.”
