”I’m the luckiest man in the world” – P Diddy Talks Family, Life with His 6 Kids and their Mothers
Celebrity dad, Sean Combs, also known by his stage names P Diddy, who was recently named Forbes’ richest celebrity with a staggering net worth of $820 million, has said he doesn’t care about the Forbes list but rather, he cares more about being a great dad.
”That doesn’t matter to me. I don’t care about the Forbes list. I care about being a great dad,” he tells PEOPLE exclusively about his latest accolade.
In a recent chat with talk show host, Wendy Williams, the American rapper, 47, claimed he met the three women who eventually become the mothers to his six children, all in one year.
According to the music mogul, fatherhood experience is unique as his relationships with exes, Misa Hylton-Brim, Kimberly Porter and Sarah Chapman developed in a relatable way through friendship and heartbreak.

”I met all of them in the same year, so I’ve known all of them in the same amount of time — but we were friends. I wasn’t running around through my career and every couple of years just being with a new person. These are people that were my friends.
Then I would get my heart broken and then my friend would be there, and I would fall in love with my friend, and then I would get my heart broken,” he added.
From cracking jokes with his kids: Sons, Quincy Brown, 26, Justin, 23, Christian, 19, twin girls D’Lila Star and Jessie James, and daughter Chance, all 10, at his $39 million Holmby Hills estate, to posing for the family photo shoot, the doting dad opened up about hitting his stride as a proud loving father with PEOPLE.
”I got three girls, three boys, and they’re really kind, great people. They got a lot of love in their heart. I’m the luckiest man in the world. I’ve been truly blessed to have some great, incredible relationships that have afforded me these children by these very strong, intelligent, beautiful black women,” he says about his exes.
The mothers of my children [are] my best friends. My hat goes off to them.”
Meanwhile, his children say they’ve always felt their father’s presence in their lives and are grateful for his constant support.
”He’s always motivating me and pushing me to be great,” says Justin, who recently graduated from UCLA and plans to attend business school in hopes of taking over the family business one day. He’s my dad and also my best friend at the same time.”
”He is the boss of what I do in terms of making music. He oversees everything, he’s the leader. We have a close relationship,” says Echoes Christian, who’s taking after his dad in the music industry.
P Diddy’s oldest son, Quincy, whom he adopted at age 3, noted that his dad is also ”a friend, a teacher and a therapist.”
”The biggest lesson my father has taught me is to really not focus on that ‘No,”’ says Quincy. ”That ‘No’ actually is your gas to your car that’s supposed to fuel you into fighting through.”
The vibrant record producer and entrepreneur has recently been linked with longtime girlfriend Cassie. In reference to their relationship, Puff Daddy said, ”I’m in love now, and I was in love then too.”
As for his never-married status, Combs, made it clear that it’s not about “being a playboy.”
”I think marriage is so serious,” he said. You’re making a commitment to somebody under law. Unless you’re ready to do everything that’s said, then you shouldn’t get married.”
”Life is a journey. So I have to get myself all the way together before I’m really ready for marriage. That, for me, is something very, very serious.”
