Dear MIMsters: How Do I Handle My Maid Who is Suppose to be Mature
I am a 41 year-old working mother and I have two kids. The first is fourteen years old while the second one is 5 years.
I have this woman working for me who comes in the morning and knocks off in the afternoon. She is a mother of five and I have no idea how old she is. Whenever I’m out ,she will brings things to my children. For example, today, I found out that she had brought a pair of shoes for my 5 year old son.
When I asked after I returned, she told me my older child, gave them to her. After she left, I sat my daughter down and asked her. She told me that the maid got it on her own. She bluntly denied giving them to her. I am not sure where she gets these things from but I think she gets them through begging.
Sometimes, I have found clothes missing from the house and when I ask her she denies taking them. Please what should I do to this maid?
Send her away and get another maid please. Only God knows where she gets those things from.
Jeezzz…….please send this person away. Am having goose bumps already cos I have nannies as well. This behavior is weird.
Pls deny her access to your rooms and always lock your doors when you are going out. Let her only clean your sitting room and kitchen. Don’t allow her to bring bags. If she needs change of clothing, she should keep her work clothes in your house.
I lost my house help after laying down these rule, so be ready to lose her, as the job will become less attractive.
When getting a new person let her know all your rules. If she is not comfortable, she will not come .back.
Employing a woman with 5 children, definitely she must be stealing your food too!
