Valentine Okongwu is an American with an Igbo-Nigerian descent and a traveling ER nurse based in the U.S.

While working at the Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital on a particularly stressful night, Valentine called his mom at work. His mom who is also a medical personnel in the same hospital, happened to be working on the same shift.

As expected of a typical Nigerian mom, Mrs Okongwu immediately took him to show him off to everyone in the hospital.  The nurse said the pride on his mother’s face as she introduced him to her colleagues was one of the highlights of the night for him.

He writes;

”I got slammed all night at this ER last night but you wanna know what the highlight of it all was?

Calling my Mom at 3am and finding out she’s working the same shift, on the 4th floor ????. I had to endure her introducing me to every single one of her coworkers, but the joy written all over her face seeing her son literally at the same hospital has made my night.

Have you ever worked side by side with your Mom? Man it’s not everyday I get this opportunity. It’s definitely a special feeling.

She won’t be working that much longer soon so I’ll go ahead and cherish this small moment in time while it lasts ♥️.”

”Do you remember back when you were in elementary school and one of your parents popped up in the middle of the day in your class? Do you remember how that felt?

So my Dad paid me a visit while I was working, and I come out to the crowded ER waiting room to meet him, and when he saw me, turned at everyone else in the waiting room and starting yelling “That’s my BOY!” ????????????
