Ugandan Mum, Barbara Kemigisa Employs Her 3 Children To Join Her On A Cause That Many Are Questioning
Ugandan mother of three, Barbara Kemigisa is HIV positive, and so are her three children.
In a bid to enlighten people and raise awareness on the burden of living with the virus, the outspoken mum has put her children on the street to join her on this noble cause.
It is not clear how Barbara or her three kids became infected with the virus, but she’s championing the fight against the virus through her positive outlook, and commitment to her anti-retroviral (ARV) medications, for herself and her kids aged 9, 17 and 22 years-old.
In a recent Facebook post, Barbara said;
‘My babies and I displaying our burden of living with HIV. Kourtney 9 years,, 11 tablets, Trevor 17 years 20 tablets, Dauglas 22 years, 3 tablets, Barbara 32 years, 3 tablets daily.
If you still have a chance and choice to stay safe, please do because it isn’t fun swallowing these pills everyday especially for the kids born with the virus.
Catch us tomorrow answering questions and displaying the pills at the old taxi park’
Still, mixed reactions have trailed Barbara’s public display and exposure of her kids in the cause she’s championing.
People are asking whether the mum of three is taking the emotional maturity of her young kids into consideration before making them join her in the street display, and that, the decision to publicly declare one’s status is a choice that the minors have been robbed off.
Despite the criticisms, the mother of three has received a good number of uplifting and encouraging comments, in which her Facebook friends commend her for her choice to live freely and openly with a typically stigmatised condition as HIV.
