Baby Recipe: Fish, Carrot And Leek Puree
Fish is an excellent source of nutrition for everyone including babies, a vital source for Omega-3 fatty acids; it makes for such an amazing puree for babies and should definitely be on the weekly recipe rotation.
Although it is not a no-cook type of puree, you will be done preparing it in 20 short minutes. This Fish + Carrot + Leek baby food puree is a great basic starter recipe.

Consider that fish is such a vital source of nutrient and it can improve your child’s vision, enhance immunity, increase IQ and foster concentration. Carrots also improve vision and strengthen immunity in babies, while leeks are a great source of dietary fibre , iron and magnesium.
This recipe is intended for babies 7-9 months old. This puree combination is a savory, brain-boosting powerhouse.
Ingredients
1 medium size Titus fish fillets
3 carrots, peeled and chopped
1 leek, white and green parts only, chopped
1/2 cup water (reserved), breast milk or formula
Preparation
Step 1
In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil over medium heat. Place the fish, carrots and leek into a steamer basket and steam for 15 minutes, covered. Let cool slightly.

Step 2
Transfer all ingredients into a blender or food processor and blend until smooth, adding 1/4 cup of liquid at a time, until you have reached your desired consistency.
Storage – 3 days in fridge, 2 months in freezer
*This puree is great with a pinch of spice, curry, thyme or nutmeg added right before blending.
