Kaduna State Government Extends Maternity Leave Period For New Mothers
Few hours after he was sworn-in as the Governor of Kaduna state for second term, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai has announced that female civil servants in the state will now enjoy six months maternity leave. The governor in a tweet yesterday announced that the Kaduna State Executive Council has approved additional three months to make six months maternity leave for all new mothers in the state.
El-Rufai who made the announcement in a tweet explained that the decision was agreed on to encourage healthy development of infants through prolonged breastfeeding, among other benefits.
