Celebrity Mom, Anne Hathaway Announces Second Pregnancy, Hints At Infertility Struggles
American actress and singer, Anne Hathaway, 36, shared some very exciting baby news yesterday. The Oscar-winning actress and her husband Adam Schulman are expecting their second child.
Anne posted a photo to Instagram to announce her pregnancy. In the black-and-white photo, Anne is wearing a light flowy tank top and what appear to be denim shorts. Most important, her growing bump is front and center, and the soon-to-be mom of two is glowing and has a big smile across her face.
Hathaway assured fans that this in fact is a real pregnancy and that she’s not wearing a baby bump for any coming movie roles. Anne started off her baby bump selfie caption with a joke: “Its not for a movie… #2”.
The “Princess Diaries” star quickly got real in the caption as she hinted she struggled with infertility before her first and second pregnancies. The expectant mama also made sure to give a special message to other women who may be struggling with infertility or having a tough time starting families of their own. She added:
“All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love.”
Anne didn’t share any specifics or elaborate about her experience with infertility in the short post. Though, she did note that both pregnancies were “not a straight line.” Anne’s due date is also still a mystery.
Anne and Adam were married in 2012, and their first child, Jonathan Rosebanks, was born in March 2016. He will soon be a big brother.
This year, the mom revealed that she was giving up drinking until Jonathan was old enough to be out of the house. In a new interview with Boston Common magazine, Anne revealed that she was surprised at all the buzz surrounding her decision. She said:
“I didn’t put (a drink) down because my drinking was a problem; I put it down because the way I drink leads me to have hangovers and those were the problem.
My last hangover lasted for five days. When I’m at a stage in my life where there is enough space for me to have a hangover, I’ll start drinking again, but that won’t be until my kid is out of the house.”
Congratulations to Anne and her growing family!
