Corona Schools CEO, Adeyoyin Adesina Shares On This One Effective Tool For Teaching Students Multiple Life Skills
The Chief Executive Officer, Corona Schools’ Trust Council, Mrs Adeyoyin Adesina, has said teaching children about teamwork and how to handle defeat will help them to develop excellent soft skills.
Adesina while speaking at the maiden virtual 2020 inter-schools quiz competition of the school said the idea of the competition was to put the students in a better position to succeed and acquire life skills.

She said,
“The whole idea of introducing them to this kind of competition early in life is for them to realise that life is about competition and it is about winning.
To win, you have to prepare, and to win you have to work as a team.
So, we teach them teamwork very early and also teach them how to be gracious in victory and how to handle defeat and disappointment.”
At the end of the keenly contested exercise, Corona School, Ikoyi, emerged overall winner; Corona School, Victoria Island, came second; Corona School, Gbagada, came 3rd while Corona School, Lekki and Corona School, Apapa came fourth and fifth respectively.
The physical aspect of the 2020 competition which was held at Corona School, Victoria Island, had the pupils solved quiz questions in English Language, Mathematics, Science, mixed basket (mind gene), coding and animation.
The Director of Education, Corona Schools’ Trust Council, Mrs Amelia Dafeta, explained that the idea behind the interschool quiz was to spur the pupils to go outside their comfort zone, do research and get themselves prepared to compete in a healthy manner.
