‘I Was Questioning Everything…’ -Iretiola Doyle Reflects On Her Challenges In Year 2023
Talented Nollywood actress Iretiola Olushola Doyle has opened up on the challenges she faced in 2023 during an ‘Open’ show.
Sharing a video and photo of herself on Instagram app, the mother of two appreciated film producer Lala Akindoju for inviting her to the ‘Open’ program where she had the opportunity to relieve herself of what she went through.
The veteran actress recalled the unfortunate scenes of the year, stating her heart was literally bleeding. She spoke about how everything she thought she knew about herself, love relations was an illusion.
The movie star revealed that the words spoken at the event were a balm to her soul, a much needed therapy for her.
She wrote:
“December 17th, 2023…
What a show… what a night!!@lalaakindoju invited me to my very first #Open …
It was a year when my heart was literally bleeding…
Chunks had been taken out of me… I was questioning everything I thought I knew about “love” relationships… everything I thought I knew about myself…
I wasn’t sure what to expect, certainly not the floodlights that lit up the innermost, darkest corners of my heart, speaking words that were a balm to my soul.

Recall that a few years back, Ireti officially divorced her husband, Patrick Doyle.
Last year, the veteran actress spoke out for the first time on her divorce in an interview with Media personality, Chude Jideonwo.
She affirmed that she and her husband of over two decades are officially divorced. Ireti spoke about how she suffered physical and domestic violence as a teen, and affirmed that she had no business getting married at the time she did, not to talk of who she chose to get married to.
