Mohbad’s Widow Speaks Up After Pathologist Revealed Cause Of Singer’s Death Could Not Be Ascertained
Wunmi Aloba, the widow of Nigerian music star, Mohbad has broken her silence following the pathologist’s statement that the cause of the death of her husband was unknown.
On September 12, 2023, Ilerioluwa Aloba popularly known as Mohbad passed away in suspicious circumstances.
After Nigerians demanded justice, his body was exhumed on September 21 so that an autopsy could be performed to ascertain the cause of his death.
The pathologist testified that the 27-year-old singer’s body had already decomposed when the test was conducted, making it impossible to determine the cause of death during a coroner’s inquest on Wednesday, May 15.
Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Wahab Shittu, who was in court for the continuation of the inquest told newsmen:
“The cause of death cannot be determined. He gave a lot of reasons. He said by the time they conducted the test, the body had decomposed and that it is not possible for them to determine the cause of death.
So the summary he is saying is that the cause of death cannot be ascertained and when you say the cause of death cannot be ascertained, it means it is suspicious, it is not clear, no particular reason.
He also went further to say that it may be attributed to reaction to certain drugs administered on him before he died. Again he then qualified that to say he does not know whether it is those drugs that actually led to his death.”

At the hearing, a witness also informed the court of the issues the singer had with Wunmi and Sam Larry.
Subsequently, Wunmi who shares a son with Mohbad went on her Instagram Stories to post a blank dark page to express her sorrow.
She also shared a photo of Mohbad and wrote: “Ilerioluwa masun (do not sleep)”
Wunmi had earlier slammed Abu Abel and Adeshina Kabir Hayat for accusing her of being involved in her husband’s death.
Abu Abel who is a popular real estate tycoon and TikTok influencer, Kabir Hayat, had made claims that Wunmi was involved in her husband’s death.
The mother of one took advantage of a TikTok show hosted by Kabir Hayat, which featured Abu Abel as a guest, to clarify and confront the misunderstandings surrounding her husband’s death.
After Wunmi joined the show, she directly addressed Kabir Hayat in her first question during the audio call on her entertaining TikTok program.
She questioned the host on his hostility towards her and her son, Liam Light, daring him to provide a coherent explanation.
According to her, she had begged her father-in-law, Mr. Joseph Aloba, to use the age-old Yoruba customs of invoking Mohbad’s spirit in order to exact justice and retribution on those accountable for her husband’s tragic passing.
Wunmi said, however, that Mohbad’s father and relatives had steadfastly refused to comply with her request, obstructing her attempt to seek spiritual revenge.
In her words,
“After everything I’ve been through with my husband, how can I use my hand to kill my husband. Everything my father in law said is a lie.
I even told him to use juju to find the killer but he refused. I have told Baba Mohbad to do DNA test but he keeps running because of the cost. The man is using scope; I know him more than everybody. A clear conscience have nothing to fear.”
