Sad Story Of How A 15-Year-Old Nigerian Air Force School Student Was Punished To Death By Senior Colleagues

In another case of bullying in schools, a student of the Air Force Comprehensive School, Kaduna, Blaise Felix Aliyu, has passed on.

The 15-year old student was allegedly punished to death by two of his senior (SS 3) colleagues in the dormitory within the Airforce Base in Mando, Kaduna.

Aliyu, an orphan, who lost his parents in 2013, is said to be survived by his twin brother, who is also a student at the military boarding school, Kaduna.

Two SS3 students reportedly summoned the teenage boy to their room under the pretext of punishing him but ended up killing him, Leadership.ng gathered.

Felix’s body has been deposited in the mortuary pending the conclusion of investigation to unravel the cause of his death.

Reacting to the development, Air Vice Marshal Edward Gabkwet, spokesperson for the Nigerian Airforce (NAF), expressed the institution’s sorrow.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Gabkwet said an investigation to unravel the circumstances surrounding the incident is ongoing.

“The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, and indeed the entire NAF family are saddened by the painful and unfortunate incident of the untimely death of one of our students at Air Force Secondary School, Kaduna, on June 19, 2024.

To avoid all sorts of speculations, a thorough investigation is currently ongoing to unravel how, why, and what actually led to the death of the victim.

Rest assured that this matter is receiving the utmost urgency it deserves, and we won’t rest until it is unravelled,”

the statement said.

Leadership.ng correspondent who spoke with one of the officials at the Airforce Base who pleaded anonymity, corroborated the statement that the incident happened on June 19, 2024.

The official narrated that two SS3 students of the institution invited the victim to their room to punish him, but ended killing him. He said:

”What I gathered was that two SS3 students who just finished their WAEC and were waiting for NECO examination invited Felix Aliyu who is an Assistant Head boy to one of their rooms to punish him.

According to findings, these two students tortured him with electric iron till he died in their hands. First, we heard that the victim was ironing clothes and he was electrocuted, but we later gathered that it was not so.

It was a case of murder. I learnt the two SS3 students suspected to be behind the act were arrested.”
