‘The World Is A Different Place Today’ – Bimbo Ademoye Writes To Parents Following The Sad News Of How Girl, 12, Suffocated Her Cousin And Cleaned Up The Scene
Nollywood actress, Bimbo Ademoye took to social media to talk to parents. The crux of her message in her recent post was sort of an advise to parents about safeguarding and watching their kids.
Bimbo’s message is coming after the news of a 12-year-old girl in Tennessee was charged with murder after she suffocated her cousin as the younger girl slept.
According to ABC News, a security camera recorded the killing, inside the bedroom they shared on July 15 in Humboldt, Tennessee, the county prosecutor said.
The recording shows the older child using bedding to suffocate her cousin as the younger girl slept in the top bunk.
After the girl died, “the juvenile cleaned up the victim and repositioned her body,” Gibson District Attorney Frederick Agee’s statement said.
A relative told WREG-TV in Memphis that the girls had been arguing over an iPhone after coming from out of town to stay with their grandmother.
The girl was charged with first-degree murder and tampering with evidence after authorities obtained the video last Wednesday.
“I consider this to be one of the most disturbing violent acts committed by either an adult or juvenile that my office has prosecuted,”
Agee wrote in the statement.

He said he would petition a judge to prosecute the girl, who turns 13 later this month, in adult court, which would allow for “a lengthier sentence, whether that will be through incarceration or supervision with court-ordered conditions.”
Reacting to the shocking, sad news, Bimbo admonished parents to be very watchful and very present as they have no idea what their kids are seeing, watching or hearing.
Bimbo related her message to a movie she has produced earlier, which faced a lot of criticism to that of a recent case that had occurred, and had similar characteristics with the sad news.
She shared picture of the deceased girl and wrote:
“Posted this on my story and thought to bring it on here. Saw this and got a number of tags from people saying it reminded them of “SHINING STAR”.
I was shocked I won’t lie. I remember when shining star aired, I got a number of backlash on how the movie wasn’t “realistic ” Some said it didn’t “make sense” ,story line no follow, how would an 11 year old boy hide a body, how would he even think about it.
Someone even said lopeda talked too much. Asin a 12 vear old talked too much. A number of people didn’t like it because it wasn’t happily ever after.
Some even said there’s no way it could have been a true life story. Anyways, a large number of people could relate, single parents, kids who had been abused by their parents, kids who had been abused my relatives who are now adults but still live with the trauma.
Multiple mothers reached out to me and told me how the film touched them. YouTube limited monetization and views. In all, I’m so000000o grateful for you guys, ALL opinions are more than welcome (yes! Even criticisms too. We can always agree to disagree)
Dear parents, PLEASE, be very watchful and very present. You have no idea what your kids are seeing, watching or hearing. The world is in a different place today, be vigilant! A ku Monday o.”
