Using Her Own Experience, Alex Unusual Counsels Parents, Guardians And Teachers About The Importance Of Teaching Kids Kindness
Reality TV star and writer, Alex Asogwa, widely known as Alex Unusual, shared a heartfelt message to parents and guardians.
The BBNaija’s star’s latest post had a melancholic tone to it, as she touched on a very sensitive topic, which is bullying.
In the video she posted, Alex recounted her experience in secondary school, and how it shaped her views about life.
Reflecting on her own experience where she witnessed a student being severely beaten by seniors, Alex highlighted the importance of teaching kindness.
She said that in her secondary school, a colleague of hers was flogged by senior students until she passed out, and she had to piggyback her to the clinic, and upon arrival, she passed out herself because of the stress she went through.
Alex added that when she got back to the hostel, she was was flogged by the same senior students because according to them, she made them look bad by taking her colleague to the clinic.

Going forward, Alex addressed parents, stating that kindness starts from home, and as such, they should teach their kids to be kind, so they don’t go to school and bully others.
She also spoke about secondary school students who would be entering the senior class, and she advised them to avoid bullying others simply because they were also bullied when they were juniors.
Alex also hammered on the fact that some children may not have had the best holidays because of the current situation in the country, and as such, other kids should be kinder to them.
She captioned the video: “I wrote a letter to you. Send this to a parent, guardian, or Teacher. Tag them if you know their handles.
“Send it to other platforms. Show them if they are not on this platform or social media. I’m not the nicest human on earth but I know that kindness goes a long way.
“Kindness starts at home. Let’s teach our children that their words hold the power to heal, to uplift, and to make a difference.
“When we show them how to stand against bullying and stand up for others, we plant the seeds for a kinder world.”
