Lady Shares Her Thought On The Reality Of Many Nigerian Men After An Encounter With One
A Nigerian lady, Nana Lateepha has shared on the reality of many Nigerian men after an encounter with one of them.
Lateepha said that she met a married man recently who told her that he would rather destroy his wife’s means of income by all means possible than watch her earn more than him.
According to her, that is the reality of many Nigerian men as she prayed never to end up with such insecure men.
She disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday while reacting to a tweet about a man who told his wife to quit her job because he felt insecure about her earning more than him.
The man, @oye_bobs had written:
“A man told his wife to quit her job because she was earning more than him and he was feeling insecure. She decided to quit her job and got one with lesser pay and they lived happily ever after. See, sustaining a marriage is just all about obeying and understanding your husband.”
Reacting to the post, Lateepha wrote:
“Recently, a man said to my face that he rather destroy his wife’s means of income physically or spiritually instead of watching her earn more than him and that is the reality of many men.”
Corroborating Lateephat’s post, a married man wrote about his own personal experience. In his words:
“Truth be told, there are an overwhelming number of insecure men in our African societies than one can ever imagine. I’m just glad that I have never been emotionally bothered about my wife’s career growth and success. As a matter of fact, I can take credit for seeing to it that she has gotten to where she is presently.
I’m never ashamed to let people know that it is by the grace of my wife that I am living in the UK today. She’s a nurse, and she got a job here in the UK through the NHS, and she got a visa for me and our two kids as her dependants. Five years residents permit without stress.
All my narcissistic friends and relatives who suppress their wives emotionally, physically and financially are now begging God for my type of grace. You can’t get my type of grace overnight when you have stunted your wives from growing. No be by miracle or by magic. Every man would reap the rewards of what he has planted. Simple.”
