‘I Am Just Lucky’ – Bovi Ugboma Says As He Shares Secrets To His Marital Success
Nigerian stand-up comedian, Bovi Ugboma has opened up about his secret to staying happily married for over a decade to his wife, Kris Asimonye Ugboma.
Attributing his success in marriage to sheer luck, the 44-year-old comic actor, in an interview with media personality VJ Adams marked himself lucky when it comes to marriage.
The proud dad revealed that he is just lucky when it comes to love and marriage, as he avowed that he believes most marriages have to do with luck before any planning or strategy come into play.
He explained that his approach to marriage involves not taking himself too seriously, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t get pushed or worried, practicing patience, and taking life one day at a time.
The comedian acknowledged that while no marriage is perfect, true perfection comes from embracing each other’s imperfections.
Bovi stated that he isn’t the type of person who will stay in a place that isn’t conducive, that is, an uncomfortable situation, hence, his reason for saying he is lucky in marriage.

“One day at a time, and don’t take yourself too seriously. I am lucky when it comes to marriage. I think most marriages have to do with luck before any form of planning comes into play. So, I think I am lucky.
I have learned not to take things too personally, but that doesn’t mean I don’t get pushed or worried. There is no perfect marriage but perfection comes from loving the imperfection.
I am not the type of person who will stay in a place that isn’t conducive, so that’s why I said I am lucky to be where I am, but, for many years, I was doing this one thing at a time, and I am a giver by nature.
I am lucky to have her and her wanting to have me, and wanting to have each other and make it work.”
Bovi and his wife tied the knot in 2009, and has often expressed love for his wife.
In an interview, he shared that he always knew he would marry a beautiful woman, comparing Kris to his mother, whom he described as the most charming person he had ever known.
The couple is now blessed with three children, although Bovi admitted that he had only initially planned to have one.
