Actress Ini Dima-Okojie Gives Positive Update On Her 3-Year Battle With Fibroids
Nollywood actress, Ini Dima-Okojie has taken to social media to share an update on her 3-year battle with fibroids.
After embarking on a holistic journey to get rid of her fibroids, which sadly returned, the Nollywood diva has now announced that the fibroids are shrinking.
The thespian in a TikTok video shared recently, noted that the efforts she has been making to combat her ailment which includes taking supplements and giving up on bread, milk, and other foods, seem to be working.
According to Ini, a recent ultrasound scan result showed that the fibroids had reduced in size after she forced herself to make some lifestyle changes.
In her words:
“I made some lifestyle changes since I found out that the fibroids are back. So I went to the hospital recently to do an ultrasound scan and the fibroids are shrinking, so we’re doing something right; something is working.”
Recall that in July 2024, Okojie had initially revealed that her fibroids reappeared, three years after ongoing invasive surgery to remove them.
In the video she posted at the time, she addressed her followers and fans and updated them about the challenges she faced and her plans moving forward.
She explained,
“I want to share something important with you today. If you’ve been following me, you would probably know that before the end of 2020, I had a myomectomy, which is an evasive surgery to take out fibroids.
The surgery was successful; my doctor removed every single fibroid and I healed well. It’s been 3 years since the surgery and unfortunately, the fibroids are back.”
After that, the actress consistently kept her fans and followers in the loop of her holistic approach to shrinking the fibroids, as she had no intentions of undergoing surgery again.
The 34-year-old who is happily married to her boo, then revealed she had given up bread, meat and other foods in a bid to shrink her fibroids.
“Dairy, so cheese, milk, refined sugar like cookies, cakes, condiments and processed food in general. Also, carbonated drinks and caffeine. Honorary mention, sodium and anything high in salt.
So I am avoiding these things because they are high in estrogen and these things can make the fibroids grow,”
said Okojie.
