Prince Harry Has This To Say As He Addresses Divorce Rumours With Wife, Meghan Markle

The Duke of Sussex, Prince Harry has addressed the persistent online rumours that his marriage to his wife, Meghan Markle is on the rocks after six years.

At the 2024 DealBook Summit hosted by The New York Times, Prince Harry directly addressed a question regarding his relationship with his wife in response to recent reports regarding their separate pursuits.

Andrew Ross Sorkin, the founder of DealBook and a NYT columnist, joined the 40-year-old Duke on stage in New York City on December 4th for a broad discussion about disinformation, the mainstream media, and initiatives to make the digital world a safer place, as quoted in a report by the People.

At the interview’s conclusion, Sorkin questioned Prince Harry about how he handles the public’s interest in every facet of his life, which harshly spotlights his personal relationships while highlighting the admirable causes he supports.

He also asked Prince Harry about how he grapples with the public fascination surrounding every aspect of his life, which highlights the positive causes he advocates for and casts a harsh spotlight on his personal relationships.

Reacting to the questions, Prince Harry emphasised that the attention was not a good thing.

He said that the attention was definitely not a good thing because they’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times, and they’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well.

“Apparently, we’ve bought or moved house 10, 12 times. We’ve apparently divorced maybe 10, 12 times as well. So it’s just like, “what?”,”

Harry said laughing.

“It’s hard to keep up with, but that’s why you just sort of ignore it.

“They’re fascinated Meghan is in California right now, and you’re here. There are articles left and right about: “Why are you making, doing independent events? Why aren’t you doing them together?””

He added that the people he feels most sorry about are the trolls because they ‘hope’ they will split up. He said:

“The people I feel most sorry about are the trolls. Their hopes are just built and built, and it’s like, “Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes”, and then it doesn’t happen. So I feel sorry for them. Genuinely, I do.”

He also criticized Britain’s legal system, Government, media, and being in the public eye, declaring the attention was ‘definitely not a good thing’.

Harry dismissed divorce rumours and spoke about negative attention on him in the press and on social media. The dad of two said:

“I’ve had a lived experience since I was a kid. I’ve seen stories written about myself that aren’t exactly based on reality. I’ve seen stories about members of my family, friends, strangers, all sorts of people.

And I think when you grow up within that environment, you do find yourself questioning the validity of the information but also what other people are thinking of that as well, and how dangerous it can be over the course of time”.
