‘Stay Vigilant’ -Tonto Dikeh Warns The Public About A New Scam Method
Nollywood star actress, Tonto Dikeh, has alerted the public to a new scam tactic targeting unsuspecting individuals in public spaces.
In an Instagram post, the mother of one explained that the scheme involves a scammer falsely accusing an individual of making a fake bank transfer after a purchase.
The scammer may cry or wail dramatically, drawing the attention of people and passers-by and pressuring the accused to resolve the issue on the spot.
The philanthropist cautioned that such scenarios could lead to embarrassment, wasted time, loss of belongings, or even physical harm due to the risk of mob action before help arrives.
She advised the public to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions to avoid falling prey to this new scam tactics.
She wrote,
“New scam alert! Beware: Someone could approach you in public, crying and wailing, accusing you of making a fake transfer for something you allegedly bought.
A crowd gathers, tensions rise, and you’re forced to either pay up or rush facing jungle justice.
Now imagine the embarrassment, wasted time, potential property loss, or even harm to yourself before any help arrives.
Stay vigilant and stay safe because outside is wild these days.”
