‘Pregnancy Humbled Me’ – New Mum, Deborah Enenche Shares Her Experience

Deborah Enenche-Hawthorn, a fashion enthusiast and the eldest daughter of popular clergyman, pastor Paul Enenche of Dunamis International Church, has shared her pregnancy experience and how it humbled her.

Deborah and her husband, photographer Samuel Hawthorn welcomed their first baby on the 15th of December 2024, two days before their second wedding anniversary.

Deborah’s parents created a buzz when they shared the news of their first grandchild’s arrival on social media.

After a few days of being a new mom, Deborah expressed her gratitude in a heartfelt message, explaining that she stepped away from social media for some time to seek privacy and divine protection, while thanking her fans for their prayers and support.

The fashionista was grateful to God for the safe arrival of her son and noted that pregnancy taught her humility.

According to her, her pregnancy journey has made her to appreciate life on a different level, and take inventory of what is truly important.

She emphasized that it changed her physically and spiritually, leading her to pray more. She stated this on her social media pages.

She wrote on her X page:

“So yes, pregnancy humbled me. It brought me to my knees before the only one who gives and sustains life. It’s made me appreciate life on a completely different level. And it’s made me take inventory of what’s truly important.”
On Instagram, she continued:

“The pregnancy season 🤰🏿 #sundayreels

Hey fam 🤗

I know I haven’t posted in a while and I just wanna thank and appreciate every single one of you that’s stuck around with me all this while, sending prayers and love and support. I love and appreciate you all 🥹. Thank you all for the congratulations wishes as well. I’ve been so busy I haven’t even had time to read a bulk of them. But I am grateful 🥹

As you can see, God was up to something in the background 🥹. Working and weaving an exquisite and incredible testimony behind closed doors. Psalm 91:1 comes to mind. It is to me poetry on incubation and the necessity for privacy in order to access Divine protection.

My Abba I just want to say thank you. Thank you sweet Jesus for taking me through the journey safely and bringing to be my son. Thank you Holy Spirit for the fire of your protection from evil arrows and bad will. I can’t thank you enough Lord 😢🙌🏿.

I have seen a couple of hilarious think pieces on how pregnancy humbled me 😂😅. As amusing and mildly irritating as these observations are, they couldn’t be truer.

Not from a purely aesthetic and dare I say insipid point of view many are taking (especially about my looks) but more so from the perspective of how nothing in my life has humbled me to my knees in prayer like this before 🧎🏿‍♀️🛐🙏🏿.

Nothing had made me so aware of how human and helpless I am without God and how He truly rules over everything. Nothing has made me more committed to self improvement or to addressing deep underlying issues I have otherwise avoided.

And trust me, nothing prepares you for the visceral reality of the need for maturity and dissociation from anything that doesn’t serve you or your child or your family or God. Everything gets put into glaring perspective 👓.

So yes, pregnancy humbled me. It brought me to my knees before the only one who gives and sustains life. It’s made me appreciate life on a completely different level. And it’s made me take inventory of what’s truly important. No chasing shadows for me. Only the shadow of the Almighty will be my habitation. ✝️”
