State Government Declares Free Education For Female Indigenes Up to PhD Level
The Jigawa State Government has granted free education to all female indigenes in state-owned institutions.
The government said the free education will cover all levels from primary school to PhD.
The governor of the state, Umar Namadi spearheaded the initiative, which aims to empower women through education and ensure financial barriers no longer hinder their academic aspirations.
Jigawa State Commissioner for Higher Education, Prof. Isa Chamo, hailed the programme as a milestone in advancing gender equality.
He said:
“This is a significant step towards empowering women. By providing free education, the government is enabling women to make informed decisions, achieve their goals, and contribute to their communities.”
The initiative is designed to encourage more girls to pursue education by removing financial obstacles.
The Executive Secretary of the Jigawa State Scholarships Board, Sa’idu Magaji, stated the dedication behind the programme’s implementation. Magaji stated:
“We believe education is the key to unlocking potential. This initiative reflects our commitment to supporting female students at every stage of their academic journey.”
