‘We Know What’s Going On Behind Closed Doors’ – Toke Makinwa, Mary Remmy Njoku, Others Call Out Tuface Idibia For Publicly Announcing His Separation From Wife, Annie

Nigerian celebrities like Toke Makinwa, Tiwa Savage, Mary Remmy Njoku, Queen Mercy Atang, and others, have reacted to the divorce announcement of singer Innocent Idibia, popularly known Tuface and Annie Idibia.
It is no longer news that the singer and his actress wife are having another marital crisis and this time, 2baba announced via his Instagram page that they are headed for divorce. Though he did not state why, he promised to address the public soon.
It all started after 2Face announced his official separation from his wife and mother of two. He stated that they had been separated for a while.
After deleting a post that alleged his account was hacked, he made a video of himself confirming the news again. 2Face declared that everything written on the page was made by him and his account was not hacked.
Celebrities took to the video’s comment section to bash his insensitivity and rudeness on how he announced their divorce.
Toke, who wasn’t pleased with his statement, had lashed out at him as she expressed disappointment in his behavior. She told him that she and others would stand by Annie, during the tough moment.
Toke wrote,
“This is wrong on all levels and you should be ashamed of yourself for bringing this here. Bring it on. If you think she’s alone let me tell you here that you’ll have to fight all of us.”
Moments later, Toke took to her Instagram story to clear the air, making it known that she isn’t advising anyone to stay in a situation that is not serving them any purpose. She stated that her problem is him bringing it on social media, especially at this moment.
She stated that she knows what goes on behind closed doors, which the world doesn’t know of. Toke reaffirmed that she would stand by Annie as she noted how time is everything, and that people would know the truth someday.
“Nobody is asking anybody to stay in a situation that’s not serving them any purpose anymore. By all means, leave if you just want, but why bring this online at this very moment?
We know what’s going on behind closed doors. The world doesn’t know anything; it’s already been hectic with opinions flying around, and when I say we will fight for her, I’m not talking about the general public.
A handful of people know the truth and time will tell.
Timing is everything.
Empathy is everything.
You constantly preach love, you cannot add to the narrative that’s out here when you know what is really happening behind closed doors”.
In another post, she stated that any lady who sits on the fence about this would experience such in the future, adding that if 2baba wanted to bring their drama online, knowing what was happening, they would fight for Annie.
She added,
“I’m not one for too much talk, but what is wrong is wrong, and as a woman, if you sit on the fence on this one, if it misses you, it’ll touch your daughter or any female in your family.
No one is innocent, and if you want to bring the media into it, knowing what is happening, we will fight for her.”
Delta State Governor’s aide Ossai Ovie Success also wrote:
“It’s the wrong timing for 2face to announce his marriage breakup.
Just last year, Annie suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage while expecting twins.
The past few weeks and months have been hell for Annie Idibia, considering the intense backlash she has faced online.
If 2face was serious about announcing their separation, he should have waited for a more opportune time.
This pøorly timed announcement is not only insensitive but also disappointing, especially given Annie’s recent struggles”.
Nigerian celebrity designer, Toyin Lawani also weighed into the marital crisis writing:
“Do not kick someone when they are already down. Love, Live and Learn”.
Filmmaker, Mary Remmy Njoku also joined Nigerians to slam 2Face over his divorce announcement.
Without mincing words, the mother of three claimed she was part of the family Annie had. She dragged the father of seven for choosing to humiliate his wife when she was at her lowest.
While berating his thinking, the ROK TV boss told Tuface to prepare for questions when needed.
“Bro, Annie has family o! Your sisters in law are many and we’ve stayed quiet out of respect for her tough choices.
But since you have decided to humiliate get at her lowest, no wahala. It’s your choice. Just make sure she is healthy and okay.
Because when the time comes we’ll have plenty of questions for you.”
