‘I Am Done With Cheating’ – Davido Declares, Explains Why

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has revealed that he is turning over a new leaf in his personal life, declaring he’s done with fidelity and ready to focus on his family.

The 32-year-old music star revealed this in a recent interview on The Breakfast Club podcast on Tuesday, while discussing his infidelity habits.

During the chat, the multi-award-winning artist candidly addressed his past relationships, admitting that his past mistakes have shaped his current perspective.

For years now, Davido has been under the public eye for both his achievements and several cheating scandals before and after he got married to Chioma in 2023.

However, Davido, who has five kids with four women, claimed that cheating comes with a lot of problems.

“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala. I have five kids with four women. I’d rather go and live how my other guys are living. May be because I’ve had bad experiences. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.”

The singer also referenced familial examples of polygamy, stating that his uncles continue to face long-standing relationship issues—scenarios he hopes to avoid.

“My uncle that’s a governor has two wives. Another of my uncles said that all his wives lived with him, and they played with each other. But upon all the money, there’s still wahala. I’m not cheating again. And I can’t have another wife.”

Looking ahead, Davido confirmed that he and his longtime partner, Chioma Rowland, will hold their white wedding this August in Miami, United States.

The couple, who previously had a traditional ceremony, welcomed a set of twins in 2023.

Davido also spoke emotionally about his late son, Ifeanyi, who passed away in 2022, drawing a touching connection to his newborn son.

“We’ve got twins now, a boy and a girl. The boy looks exactly like my son who passed. They act the same. Everything he used to do, he does,”

He further disclosed that some of his team members are not too happy with how disciplined he has become.

He said some members of his team are complaining that the crew has become “boring” since he got married.

According to him:

“The other day I walked in on my boys talking, I asked what they were talking about and they said, ‘Boss, we are not having any fun. You’ve changed. Where are the girls?’

“I said, ‘Where are the girls? When I get into trouble, everybody will run away and leave me alone to face the internet. Nah.’

“Women have dealt with me in my career. I’m good, bro. I’m no longer interested in womanising. Trust me, I’ve been at the highest of the highest, the best time is when there’s no problem at all. I don’t care how much you make or how much is in your account. I have made it all. There’s nothing like peace of mind.”
