Nigerian Clergyman Sparks Controversy As He Lists Reasons A Lot Of Women Can’t Find Husbands To Marry Them

A Nigerian clergyman, Pastor David Uche has gone viral following his comments about women and independence.

The pastor triggered diverse reactions online after he shared his views on spiritual factors why most women can’t find husbands to marry them.

According to the cleric, if a woman wants to find a husband, they must desist from buying a car and a house until they find a partner.

He added that these actions can interfere with the natural course of a relationship. Explaining further, the pastor stated that a single woman who has attained financial success by purchasing property, cars, and managing everything on her own may unknowingly make it difficult for herself to find a suitable partner.

Pastor Uche further advised that women should consider living with their parents or with close family members until they meet the right man.

While preaching to members of his church, the cleric said;

“If you’re a woman who wants to get married, don’t buy a house or a car. Don’t live alone, stay with family or your sister. Because once you do, you’ll have a power tussle with a man and you won’t be able to get married. You’ll start asking, ‘Who do you think you are?’ because you can now afford your own needs.”

If you’re doing everything on your own and living alone, it becomes difficult for a man to see how he fits into your life. Money makes the heart independent and strong. Stay with your parents—it’s a man who is supposed to come and take you into his home.

Live with your sister or family. Only when you move into a man’s house should you start taking full responsibility.”

He went on to kick against young female undergraduates staying in hostels. According to him, such ladies end up becoming prostitutes.
