Davido Finally Reunites With Daughter, Imade Following Custody Battle
Nigerian award-winning singer, Davido has melted hearts again—this time with a powerful, joy-filled statement.
The musician revealed that he has finally reunited with his first daughter, Imade Adeleke.
The reunion came amid the ongoing custody battle between the music star and his first baby mama, Sophia Momodu.
The artist had sued Sophia at the Lagos State High Court in April 2024 to seek custody of Imade. Davido filed the lawsuit after accusing Sophia of denying him access to their daughter.
In response, Sophia filed 102 paragraphs of counter-affidavit to oppose the singer and accused Davido of refusing to fulfil his responsibility as a father after she stopped having sex with him.
Reacting to the messy battle on social media, Sophia’s uncle and journalist, Dele Momodu, in a lengthy Facebook post, disclosed that the court has referred the case for possible settlement by the alternative dispute resolution, ADR.
However, in a new development on Wednesday night, Davido shared a reunion photo with Imade, tagging today as the “Best day of my life.”
The emotional moment happened during a private dinner at the home of businessman, Cubana Chief Priest.
In a video shared by Cubana himself, Davido is seen arriving in his car. As he steps out, his excitement is loud and clear, telling his close friend he has been reunited with his child after over two years.
“I don collect my pikin back!”
