Nigerians Express Shock Over Sad News Of Nollywood Actress, Ada Ameh’s Passing
Nollywood actress, Ada Ameh is dead. ‘The Johnsons’ star died yesterday, Sunday in Warri, Delta State.
Her death was confirmed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas.
It was gathered that the movie star who lost her only child in October 2020, slumped and died around 11 pm on Sunday.
A source who pleaded anonymity, said Ameh was a guest of an oil company topshot and his family when she suddenly collapsed.
She was rushed to the Nigerian National Petroleum Hospital but passed on before they arrived at the facility.
Born on May 15, 1974, in Ajegunle, Lagos State, the popular actress had shared a video of herself eating with the family around 12:53pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page before death came calling later at night.
She captioned the video:
“Happy new week fams ❤️❤️This trip for my friends elder sister, is just an enjoyment gallow!!!Thanks my darling sister phil❤️❤️I really enjoyed myself!!God bless my love ❤️❤️May dreams come true in Jesus Christ name 🙏 🙏 🙏”
She was just 48 years old.
Recall that Ada had on June15 opened up on her battle with a mental illness after losing her only daughter, three sisters, three brother and her father.
She had said the issue was gradually taking her life but she believes that she will not die and will get over it. She also revealed that she was sued over her inability to deliver on a job she was paid to do.
Ada claimed the company was suing her for a staggering amount, which she seems unable to afford. She admitted that the lawsuit is taking her life, but, she wouldn’t allow it to weigh her down or kill her. Ada vowed to get over it.
In her words:
“I have an issue right now and its taking my life, I no go die…everything is going to be fine, I’ll get over it. I was given a job I dint do the job because I had mental issues. Will people understand when you say you have mental issues, they are slamming with a bill, suing me its okay.”
Nigerians including several celebrities have taken to their respective social media handles to express their shock and pay tribute to the actress.

Ameh, who played the role of Anita in the movie ‘Domitilla’ in 1996, is famous for her comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons.
