“RAPE WALk”: Celebrating Survivors, Ending the Silence
To mark the International Women’s Day 2016, Partnership for Justice/Mirabel Centre in collaboration with the Lagos State Domestic Violence and Sexual Response Team (DVSRT) and Motherhood In-Style Magazine is honoured to invite you as a key partner to “A walk to Celebrate Survivors of Rape and Sexual Assault in Lagos State”
The walk is scheduled to hold as follows:
Date: Tuesday, March 8, 2016
Time: 9am prompt
Rout: E-Learning Centre, Opposite CSS Bookshop
By Broad Street through Marina and back to E-Learning Centre.
The aim of the rape walk with the theme “Celebrating survivors, Ending the Silence” is to celebrate survivors who despite challenges have broken the silence about this menace thereby encouraging others to speak out. The walk will also create awareness on high incidents of rape, protective measures and available support services to citizens of Lagos State.
Broad Street through Marina on the Lagos Island was strategically chosen as the meeting point as this will enable us to create awareness among different sectors of the community who use the motor park including workers, bus drivers, okada riders, etc.
The walk is organized in collaboration with the following partners:
- Lagos State Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Response Team (DVSART)
- Motherhood In-Style Magazine
- Lagos State Gender Advocacy Team (LASGAT)
