15-Year-Old Boy Who Peddles Marijuana Faces Prison
On Tuesday, a 15-year-old teen boy was arraigned before a Federal High Court, Lagos state, for allegedly peddling Indian hemp and is now facing judgement for his actions.
DailyPost reports that National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), has arraigned a boy, identified as Uchenna Akoma, before Justice Babs Kuewumi who confessed to taking two wraps of Marijuana on a daily basis.
The teen was apprehended by the NDLEA for dealing in drugs without lawful authority after he was caught with 100 grammes of cannabis Sativa, 200g of marijuana in June as wells as 400g of marijuana.
Justice Kuewumi, before his ruling, told everyone present, except the prosecuting counsel for the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and other lawyers, to vacate the courtroom.
While the ruling was ongoing, the minor pleaded guilty to the one count charge and was remanded in prison custody.
The case was then adjourned till September for further hearing, ordering the prosecutor to review the facts of the case after which the accused may be sentenced to prison.
