Mom abandons 1 and 3-year-olds alone at home while serving time in jail
While serving time in jail, a single Mom failed to inform the police that are children were left alone in her apartment.

A mom put in jail for driving with a suspended license now finds herself in much deeper trouble. While behind bars, the single mom, Qiara Emerson, left her 1- and 3-year-olds alone for five days in an apartment.
When she was arrested, the Washington state mom never once mentioned that she had two small children at home alone. If it wasn’t for their screams being heard by a neighbor, there is no telling what would have happened to these poor children. She knew something was wrong when she heard non-stop crying. She alerted the property manager, who then called the police.
The fact they were left alone is horrific enough, but the story gets even worse. The conditions of the apartment were deplorable. There was pee, piles of feces, and vomit everywhere. They were there alone for at least five days. Five days. When police confronted Emerson, they say she didn’t appear concerned for them at all.
We have heard countless stories of children being left to fend for themselves, but this case is one of the most egregious. There is no excuse for leaving kids this age alone. There is no way they could possibly fend for themselves. You have to wonder what this woman thought would happen to them?
“She left them there to die,” said the neighbor. “I see it as attempted murder. She was attempting to kill her kids.” It’s hard to argue with that. It’s such a chilling thought. How could she? How could she not feel for these poor, helpless children that she gave birth to? Now in foster care, hopefully they will never experience that kind of trauma again.
