A Look At Whitney Houston’s Daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s Life & Struggles

The tragic news of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter fighting for her life after being found face down in a bath on Saturday comes almost three years after her troubled mother accidentally drowned in a bath tub at the Beverly Hills Hilton Hotel – she too was face down.

Since her mother’s death, the 21-year-old has had a lot to deal with but what else has she had to face over the years?

Bobbi Kristina Brown was born on March 4 1993 to singers Bobby Brown and Whitney Houston. Her mother, who picked CeCe Winans for godmother, was delighted by the birth. At the time she said: “Having Bobbi Kristina … I could never do anything that could top that. There’s been nothing more incredible in my life than having her. God knows, I have been in front of millions and millions of people, and that has been incredible, to feel that give-take thing. But, man, when I gave birth to her and when they put her in my arms, I thought: This has got to be it. This is the ultimate. I haven’t experienced anything greater.”

The year after her birth, Whitney cradled on her stage as she accepted an American Music Award – it was the start of her life in the public eye.

It wasn’t however an easy ride for Kristina, who was lovingly called Krissy.

Throughout childhood, she was forced to endure her parents volatile relationship as they battled drug addiction.

The couple’s former chauffeur, Al Bowman, said he watched his employers openly smoke crack cocaine in front of their daughter as she grew up.

A source said: “Throughout her entire life Bobbi has been surrounded by drugs. “During her parents 14-year relationship she saw first hand their battles against addiction. The path Bobbi was shown during her life was not the one any child should have to be shown by their parents.”

When she was just 14, her parents decided to go their separate ways and Whitney gained custody.

In March 2008 when she was 15-years-old, she reportedly tried to stab her mother before attempting to slit her own wrists, and, was subsequently admitted to a psychiatric ward.

In February 2011, Bobbi was caught on video snorting what was alleged to be cocaine at a party.

Almost exactly a year later in 2012, Bobbi lost her mother – the official coroner’s report showed that she had accidentally drowned in the bathtub, with heart disease and cocaine use listed as contributing factors.

In that same year, she starred in a reality show The Houstons: On Our Own, which saw her regularly intoxicated.

Bobbi has appeared to struggle to come to terms with her mother’s death. Two days after the first anniversary of Whitney’s death in 2013, Bobbi was pictured being taken from her then home in Los Angeles on a stretcher appearing unconscious. She was hospitalised for treatment, after mixing alcohol with a sedative.

Last year, a picture emerged of her online alongside what appeared to be a drugs bong and smoking cannabis. It was accompanied by a tragic and lengthy caption, but Kristina denied it was hers.

“I’ve never posted any photo of me doing anything! This is someone trying to tarnish and make a horrible name for MYSELF. People are insane,” she tweeted.

She has however found some happiness with her husband Nick Gordon – who she married at the start of 2014.

The relationship hit headlines however because Nick was a long time family friend who has said Whitney was like a mother to him.

Bobbi was six and Nick nine when he was brought into their family, and the two still reportedly use the nicknames ‘Baby Sis’ and ‘Big Brudder’ to call one another.

In response to criticism the pair were raised as siblings Bobbi, who recently said she would like a baby, was forced to say her mother had never adopted Nick.

The pair were claimed to have recently had an argument which police were alerted to.

Nick reportedly moved out of the couple’s home last week after a fight, and according to reports, Pat (Bobbi’s aunt) has taken out a restraining order against Gordon, which prevents him from seeing Bobbi Kristina in hospital.

It is unclear when the order was taken out, or what lead to it.

Following the supposed fight, last Thursday Bobbi said on her Twitter page: “On my own.”

It was the last post she wrote to 147,000 followers before being rushed to hospital two days later.
