Medics in Syria performed an emergency caesarean on a woman whose unborn baby had a piece of shrapnel implanted in her tiny brow after being injured in a missile strike in Aleppo.
Medical professionals desperately worked to save the baby’s life as they rubbed her body thoroughly, removing the object from her head and clearing her airways till she gave out a cry.
The excited doctors after the successful operation elected to name the baby girl Amal, which means ‘hope’ in Arabic. Her mother along with her three siblings who were also injured in the attack are okay and doing well.
