The ebola scare has hit Nigeria again. According to reports, ten people have been quarantined by the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital, UCTH, following the death of a patient suspected to have symptoms of the deadly virus in the hospital on Wednesday.
Chairman of Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital, Dr. Queeneth Kalu, who disclosed the new development in Calabar on Thursday while addressing pressmen, said that blood samples have been sent to the Ebola Diagnosing Centre in Benin, Edo State.
She added that those quarantined are principally nurses who attended to the patient and those who came in contact with him before his death, and further information will be provided to the public as soon as the hospital receives test results of blood samples sent for analysis.
